Sunny Semiahmoo Family Session in the Midst of Summer

There’s not many things I love more than babies and kids in the direct sun - there’s a purity to all of it. Children are unburdened and unbothered and full of wonder and excitement. Bringing them to the beach on a blasted sunny day just feels right - the light captures all their essence. So when this family reached out about family photos, Semiahmoo in the middle of the day was the ~feel~.

There’s even a bit of tactic to afternoon sessions. Nap has happened but bed time is far off enough we can manage. Not every session needs to be 30 minutes before sunset. In Washington that would be at 9pm in the summer. WITH KIDS? No thanks. These afternoon family sessions are breezy, chill, silly, fun, wild, and candid.

Embrace the bright, lean into the light, run up that aperture (like 7.1 and higher) and bring that ISO way down. Play with shutter. Enjoy brighter hues!
